About Craig


Justice of the Peace (Judge) Craig Wismer was raised in Glendale and currently resides with his family in Peoria. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory and attended classes at both the Arizona State University Main and West Campuses, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1990.

Judge Wismer subsequently accepted an offer of employment as a member of Congressman Jon Kyl’s personal staff in Phoenix and remained with Senator Kyl through 2012 serving as his Deputy State Director for Policy, Immigration Specialist and Western Maricopa County representative.

Judge Wismer won the 2012 Arrowhead Justice Precinct write-in special election with 45% of the 11,000 votes cast among 9 candidates.

In 2014 the voters returned him to office for a full four-year term and re-elected him in 2018 and 2022.

Judge Wismer serves as a juvenile hearing officer and as a justice court representative on the Maricopa County Regional Homeless Court Governing Council.

Judge Wismer has been proud to call the West Valley his home for the past 50 years.
